January is always a month when we get together to evaluate the results of the previous year and resent
our targets for the following year -
year 2008. Therefore ELKO EP, s.r.o. administration and sales accompanied by
directors and sales representatives of our 5 subsidiaries left on 9th January for a company “ ELKO EP Group road-show” called YUKON QUEST. Program
that accompanied the official part was prepared and coordinated by agency
Project Outdoor. We stayed in a picturesque environment of Slovakian mountains,
close to snow ski centre Velka Rača, in a hotel Marlene.
First day was partly dedicated to skiing and training. Training was lectured by
Mgr. Robert Stuchlík from Association of Lectors and Applied Psychology. Topic of training - “How to handle demanding situations and
stay fit.” Training was taking place later in the afternoon but thanks to Mr.
Stuchlík´s personal approach and humor that he nicely incorporated into stories
from everyday life, we were not bored for a single minute.
The following day we started with presentations and evaluations of individual
subsidiaries and departments. The presentations were coordinated by a lector
from project Outdoor agency according to a strict timetables and rules. Three
best presentations were awarded by financial award.
Afternoon we spent outside under “the command” of Project Outdoor agency and we fully enjoyed ourselves in snow. Our big group was divided into smaller teams and we took part in competition involving several games in snow including such activities like running in snow-shoes, building 3D logo to present our team’s name, etc. In the evening we had the opportunity to “taste” the high society dinner according to all rules of etiquette. We practiced ways of dining and rules applying to similar situations – like business dinners etc. After diner we all went to Dawson City Casino. J Not really. As one of many team-building games, we were told to dress up like living in Wild West and come to play roulette to the hotel’s bar. There we could use chips that we won as a team during the day in snow games.
The third day started as the day before – presentations of departments and
later, after lunch – outdoor activities. This time it was a “real” Yukon Quest –
or activities that targeted again team cooperation and fulfillment of
non-traditional tasks in the beautiful environment of mountains. Team players
had to help each other to survive physical and psychical demands of such “quest”.
The track was 3 km
long, in hilly and snowy terrain.
Atmosphere during this ELKO EP project outdoor was just wonderful and also from the organization
point of view – good job!
